How Thinking – not just looking – Can Help You Find The Right Colour

Have you ever finally decided on the colour you want to paint your room but then been confused when it came time to choose the exact shade? If that happens, it may be time to step away from the paint chip racks or colour visualizer and take time to simply think about the colour.

If you close your eyes and think about what you love about the colour, what comes to mind? What images appear? What wonderful experiences do you recall? These can all be clues to the type of colour that you will most enjoy surrounding yourself with.

For example, when you think about the colour pink what comes to mind? If you think of fluffy cotton candy, pink rosebuds, satin ballet slippers, or the early morning sunrise, a hint of pink that is not too bright or clear would have the same qualities I found appealing in those images. 2211P First Blush or 2212P Cherish might be colours you would like.

If however the pictures that appeared in your mind were hot pink high heels, bright pink hearts and flowers or sweets then a more vibrant pink like 2273P Raspberry Sorbet or 2216D Pelargonium will be the type of pink you will enjoy in your room.
