Bi annual AAK Duracoat Awards of Excellence and the unveiling of the AAK at 50 commemorative book was held on 5th December 2017 at Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi. This award scheme is aimed at recognizing excellence in architecture for projects designed, built and completed in Kenya or within East Africa by members of the Architectural Association of Kenya.

Basco Paints Managing Director, Mr. Kamlesh Shah outlined organization’s milestones and close association with the Architects further commenting on the increase of entries in the chapter.

President of the Architectural Association of Kenya,Arch. Emma Miloyo highlighted the Associations activities throughout the year and their agenda, acknowledging the leadership and secretariat of the Association.

Highlights of the night included presentation of the various awards to the winners both in the Children’s category and the architectural submissions, a segment headlined by the jury members represented by Arch. Dr. Susan Kibue, Kenya, Arch Jonathan Manning of Osmond Lang Architects and planners from South Africa and  Arch. Christian Benimana – Rwanda
