The beautiful childhood tale of Alladin and the magic lamp was re-enacted by local company Hoodwink9 Theatre and was well received over the three day series of shows at the Oshwal Centre in Westlands. The crew comprised of new entrants into the theatre world unlike their previous production of Simba (Lion King) which had established actors.
Basco Paints provided all the paints used on the set of the musical as well as cash support of Kshs 100,000 to be used towards the production costs. Speaking on behalf of Basco Paints, Mr. Mital Shah the Marketing Director said that theatre and arts was a key area for Corporate Social Responsibility for Basco Paints. He added that he was happy to support local theatre productions that families can enjoy as a change from the usual box office movies that are popular.
Sahil Gada, from Hodwink9 Theatre on his part thanked Basco Paints for their support in cash and in kind. He expressed his joy at the fully sold out shows that were thronged by theatre lovers during the screening.
