Basco Paints Co-sponsors 2nd Boraqs CPD At Safari Park Hotel – 1st September, 2016

The second continuous professional development seminar for the Board of Registration of Architects was recently held at the Safari Park Hotel. The two day seminar was held with over 600 architects and quantity surveyors attending. The theme of the seminar was, “Project financing and investment planning.” /p>

Basco Paints co-sponsored the event alongside Tile and Carpet and the chief guest of the event was Principal Secretary State Department of Housing and Urban Development- Architect. Aidah Munano. Speaking during the official opening ceremony, Arch. Munano urged the architects to ensure that they were duly registered and enforcing the industry regulations as set out by BORAQS in their every day practice. She also thanked the various stakeholders who had co-sponsored the event including Basco Paints.

Basco Paints Business Development Manager, Mr. Ziad El Khoury in his address to the participants shared on key highlights for Basco Paints in 2016 including the launch of the Duracoat Silicone Exterior Emulsion as well as the two new fragrances making a total of four fragrances available from the company. He also spoke about the availability of the popular textured finish-Real Roc at the Duracoat Colourmania centers, a recent development.

Other speakers at the seminar included: Jackline Mogeni the CEO of the Council of Governors who shared about the opportunities in the counties, Isaac Nanga the Head of Projects at KCB Bank who spoke about project financing, among other speakers. Kenya Railways was represented by Eng. Maxwell Mengich who made an elaborate presentation on the Standard Gauge Railway and the benefit it will bring to the construction industry.
