Duracoat-NCA Expert Training Held In Kiambu County – 29th April, 2016

Basco Paints in partnership with the National Construction Authority (NCA) held a joint training with the Kiambu County where 46 painters were trained for a period of five days. The training held at the Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) was part of the Mafundi Mufti Programme. The programme seeks to carry out training for skilled laborers in construction and broadly involves training in painting, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, tiling, and electrical wiring among other trades.

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo was the chief Guest at the graduation ceremony that saw 300 youths graduated with the top students immediately receiving offers of employment. Also present during the graduation was the Kiambu Deputy Governor, several MCA’s, members of the Kiambu County Executive as well as the Chief Officer of Kiambu County, Wanjeri Mugo. Basco Paints was represented by the Deputy Projects Manager, Mr. Patrick Muroki accompanied by sales reps, James Muchemi and Loise Wagatu. Forty-six painters were trained and examined and about 70% of the class achieved the pass mark and received certificates of excellence from Basco.
